The Gaelic Press produced a series of Republican Art cards - a line that went back to Matthew Walkers own days publishing with Tower Press. Padraic Pearse often contributed his wording to the text areas. In a letter here dated 1915 he writes to Joe enclosing what he had completed and "mentioning" that the lines in English were good and suggested leaving them as he might sell more that way - whilst at the same time the verse itself promotes the opposite !.
